Nearly 200 films will be screened this year for the 15th annual Cinema on the Bayou Festival.
Official selections for the international juried film festival include 40 feature-length films and 148 short films.
Films will be screened at venues in and around the Lafayette and Opelousas areas from January 22 until January 29, 2020.
Organizers say the majority of the films are World, International or U.S. Premieres from across the United States and Canada. Other countries represented include France, Japan, Slovenia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark, Haiti, Germany, Ireland, Argentina, India, Lebanon, Taiwan, Turkey and Cambodia.
Panel discussions, music, and nightly socials with film industry professionals will also be held during the eight days.
A red carpet world premiere screening of "When We Kill the Creators" will open the festival on January 22 at the Vermilionville Performance Center.
Doors open at 6:00 pm with the screening at 6:30 pm.
The festival will close on January 29 with the International Premiere of the film "Pour Mieux T'Aimer (To Better Love You).
