TRAFFIC TALK: Moving operation to pass through Lafayette

Oil production skids moving through Lafayette en route to Houston

UPDATE (12:55 pm): The operation is taking longer than expected, and has just reached Ambassador Caffery and I-10. It is moving at seven miles an hour and is expected to reach Johnston within 30 minutes.

LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA. - There will be a rolling operation moving from Carencro to Lafayette Wednesday.

Two oil production skids are being transported to Houston, the first on Wednesday and the second on Thursday.

The operation started around 9:00 am in Carencro and should be on Ambassador Caffery around 11:45 am to 12:15 pm.

From there, the moving operation will turn right on Johnston and then turn on E Broussard heading toward the Vermilion River.

The skid will be placed in the Vermilion River on a barge en route for Houston.

On Thursday, the operation will follow the same route and times.
