LAFAYETTE — Moving in day at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette may cause some traffic on Friday in Lafayette

The University announced Thursday that beginning Friday, August 23rd at 7 a.m., UL students will begin moving into the new Heritage at Cajun Village apartments. Their activities may impact traffic all day on Johnston Street at St. Julien Avenue and E. Lewis Street.

Officials advise the motorists passing through that area may encounter heavier traffic than usual and may wish to either give themselves a little extra time traveling getting to their destination or select a different route.

The student move-in should only impact traffic on Friday, according to the university. Classes at UL Lafayette for the fall 2019 semester begin on Monday, August 26th.
