LUS Fiber has restored service to more than 98% of its customers after Hurricane Delta as of October 16.
The impacts were widespread and affected services for over half of LUS Fiber customers, and most of those who remain without services should expect to be restored in the coming days.
Complete restoration is expected to take 7-14 days. Customers still experiencing service interruptions may see services restored anytime during this period.
Additional crews were contracted beginning on October 11 to assist with restoration efforts. The majority were not able to begin restoration until power was restored to neighborhoods and homes. Around the height of Delta, LUS was reporting about 50,000 customers without power. According to LUS Fiber, fiber lines take up to five times as long as power line repairs and, in some cases, require multiple phases of repair.
