LAFAYETTE — Today, October 1, 2019, marks two years since Corporal Michael Middlebrook was killed in the line of duty responding to a call for help at a Moss Street convenience store.
His wife Adrienne said on social media that "it still feels unreal." She recounts her final words to her husband before he went to work and the love she has for him that "will never change."
Middlebrook left behind a wife a daughter and two step-daughters.
On Monday, a judge rule that a verdict in the trial for Middlebrook's accused killer must be unanimous. Read that story here.
The Middlebrook Foundation has been set up in his honor and to continue his mission of helping the poor and less fortunate residents of the Lafayette community.
Early this year, Plantation Elementary was renamed Cpl. Michael Middlebrook Elementary. Read more here.
