A Lafayette teacher was issued a misdemeanor summons for simple battery.
A Lafayette Police Department School Resource Officer wrote a summons for simple battery to a teacher at Middlebrook Elementary School.
We reached out to the school system, and they sent us this statement:
"This is a personnel matter into which an investigation is ongoing and to which we are unable to comment," stated Jennifer Gardner, spokesperson for Lafayette Parish School System. "We will continue to work closely with law enforcement in the investigation of this matter, as well as continue our own investigation. All reports of alleged misconduct are taken seriously by the LPSS."
