Metairie man accused of burglarizing Lafayette jewelry store

LAFAYETTE, La. - A Metairie man is accused of burglarizing a Lafayette jewelry store.

On August 22, 2019, at 10:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to an alarm activation at a Andy's Jewelry located in the 200 block of Fue Follet Road.

When officers arrived they noticed the front door of the business was shattered, according to Cpl. Bridgette Dugas, spokesperson for Lafayette Police Department.

The suspect fled the location prior to officer's arrival with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

Through leads provided by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, an arrest was made.

Don Behre, 36, was arrested for burglary and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail.

Behre also has an outstanding warrant in Jefferson Parish.
