The Jeff Davis Parish School Board has canceled school on Monday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 13, due to most schools in the parish not having electrical service and no estimated time of restoration. Officials also said schools need to be cleaned and many in the community are still in the process of returning from the parish's mandatory evacuation.

Officials will reassess conditions for further announcements on Monday.

The Lafayette Parish School System will keep all schools closed on Monday, October 12, after assessing the impact of Hurricane Delta on school campuses.

The system will provide an update Monday afternoon.

While all schools are closed, all 244-day employees will report to work on Monday. In addition to 244-day employees, the following personnel are to report to their school sites on Monday:

- School administrators
- All custodians
- All cafeteria personnel

Employees unable to report to work are to contact their immediate supervisor for instructions.

Vermilion Parish schools will also be closed on Monday, October 12, and Tuesday, October 13 due to Hurricane Delta, Superintendent Thomas Byler announced Saturday evening. School Board Central Offices will also be closed. Regular operational schedule will resume on Wednesday, October 14.
