Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating an overnight homicide that occurred in the 1900 block of Carmel Drive.
Deputies who arrived at the scene about 8 p.m. on Monday found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Jalen Walker of Lafayette.
This case remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
