A child is in serious condition after being struck by a car on Sweetbriar St.
Capt. John Mowell with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office confirms that a child was struck by a car around 8:45 p.m. Thursday night.
The child has been transported to a local hospital. There is no word on what may have caused the crash.
