The Lafayette Parish School Board meets in regular session Wednesday.

Among the items on the agenda is a discussion of hiring architects to conduct feasibility studies on Northside High School and J.W. Faulk Elementary School.

The firms would be hired using a Request for Qualifications process, and they would be charged with studying the options of renovating or replacing the two schools. The board also is being asked to assign $100,000 for the Northside study and $40,000 for the Faulk study.

Also on the agenda is an item that would expand the board's bus driver pay scale, which currently ends at 31 years, to 50 years. The bus driver scale is the only one that ends at 31 years; this would adjust that scale to match the system's other scales, which end at 50 years.

The board's meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the board room of the Central Office on Chaplin Drive.
