A man has been arrested after allegedly becoming upset and stabbing the front desk clerk at a local motel multiple times around 3:30 Friday afternoon.

According to Lafayette Police, Troy Ledoux, 36, of Eunice, was attempting to purchase a room for the evening at a motel in the 100 block of Alcide Domingue Drive. Because of his behavior, the front desk clerk did not allow Ledoux to purchase a room. The suspect then became upset, jumped over the counter, and stabbed the clerk several times.

A second employee intervened, but was also struck with the knife, police say. After a brief struggle, the second victim was able to hold the suspect down until officers arrived.

Officers found the suspect being subdued by the second victim and quickly detained the suspect.

One victim suffered significant defensive wounds from the attack and had to be transported to a local hospital. The second victim suffered minor lacerations and stated that he would seek medical attention on his own, police say.

Ledoux was transported to an area hospital for injuries he sustained in the alleged attack. Once he was released, he was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. According to records, he is currently facing multiple charges, including attempted second degree murder and battery of a police officer.

LPD could not confirm the victim's age and place of residence at the time of this release.
