UPDATE: Telesmar Thibodeaux has been found safe, LPD confirm.
Thibodeaux was found at a gas station on Carmel Drive when security recognized him and called police.

Lafayette Police have issued a Silver Alert for 79-year-old Telesmar Thibodeaux.
According to police, Thibodeaux suffers from dementia and was last seen Friday at 1:39 p.m. near Camellia Blvd. after leaving a doctor's appointment.
Thibodeaux was last seen driving a 2017 black Ford Escape with Louisiana handicap license plate H288284. The vehicle has damage to the driver's side mirror.
Anyone who locates Mr. Telesmar or who has information on his whereabouts should call the Lafayette Police Department Watch Commander at 337-291-8668.
