Lafayette Police have placed three individuals in custody following an incident that began at at Walmart in town and ended in Abbeville.
A spokesperson with LPD said that the incident began with a shoplifting at the Walmart on Ambassador Caffery and that one suspect involved "tried to run an officer over."
The incident led to a pursuit that ended in Abbeville.
Three people were taken into custody and turned over to the Lafayette Police Department, a spokesperson with Abbeville Police said.
There is no further information available at this time.
