With the threat of severe weather this weekend "Love Our Schools" has been rescheduled.
Thousands of volunteers signed up to revitalize eight public schools in Lafayette Parish this weekend.
Officials moved the one-day initiative to August 10.
Beyond improvements to the schools, nearly 5,000 students will receive backpacks filled with school supplies, and more than 600 teachers, and staff will be gifted with much needed supplies.
All Existing volunteers who are already signed up will be automatically transitioned to the new August 10 date. If existing volunteers wish to make a change to their assignment, they can access their sign-up account through the email confirmation they originally received.
