One Lafayette family isn't letting the pandemic stop them from celebrating a special birthday.
A surprise drive-by parade was planned to celebrate Alice Carlin's 89th birthday on Friday.
Family and friends lined up and passed in front of a large sign reading, "Happy birthday Mawmaw!" They say that because Carlin's health is declining and she's home-bound, the family couldn't hold a big get-together and decided instead to surprise her with the drive-by parade.
They say she never misses a day of watching KATC on Channel 3.
