A Lafayette woman celebrated a very special birthday this weekend.
Joyce Minvielle turned 100 years young on September 26, and her family celebrated with a parade outside of her home.
The parade started at 11 a.m., and Mrs. Minvielle enjoyed seeing her family and friends drive past. A sign was also featured in her front yard for the occasion, reading, "Happy 100th birthday, Granny!"
The best part is that her family was able to keep the parade a total surprise.
"Never did I expect this," said Mrs. Minvielle. "This is so surprising, but wonderful at the same time. I love it all. It's so wonderful to see my family and friends."
