Lafayette traffic stop uncovers more than $650,000 in drugs

LAFAYETTE — A Houma man was arrested following a traffic stop that uncovered more than $650,000 in drugs, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

On Tuesday, July 23, a traffic stop lead to the arrest of 50-year-old Mark Vincent of Houma. Police say the stop occurred around 1:00 am along I-10 East near mile marker 103.

During a search of the vehicle, officers say they recovered 3,058 grams of Crystal Meth with an estimated D.E.A street value of $611,600 and 508 grams of Cocaine with an estimated D.E.A street value of $50,800.

Vincent was arrested and booked on 2-counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Narcotics. His bond is set at $1,000,000.
