WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lafayette Regional Airport will receive $7,792,300 in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program, Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced Thursday.

The CARES Act is providing $779,230, and the remaining portion consists of entitlement and discretionary allocations.

The grant will support the reconstruction of the airport apron.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“Progress on the new terminal project at Lafayette Regional is well underway," stated Higgins. "This funding will support the ongoing construction efforts, specifically for the airport apron. We support this project and will continue working with our federal partners to deliver the necessary resources.”
