The Lafayette Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying a person involved in an armed robbery at a local pizza place.

Officers say that on January 4, the suspect entered Papa John's in the 2800 block of Verot School Road and brandished a handgun while demanding money.

The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a red hooded jacket, blue jeans, and a blue surgical mask. Police say the suspect is believed to have a "sluggish eye."

Anyone with information on the armed robbery or can offer any assistance, is urged to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

Tips can also be submitted by using the department's P3 Tips Mobile App.

The department says that all callers will remain anonymous and can earn up to a $1,000 cash reward.
