A Lafayette man died Friday night after being struck by a vehicle on La Neuville Road.
According to Lafayette Police, officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to a major traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the 900 block of La Neuville Road.
The victim, identified as 88-year-old Frank Jacob of Lafayette, was walking along the road when he entered the roadway near the intersection of La Neuville Road and Kaiser Drive. The victim was then struck by a vehicle.
Jacob was pronounced deceased at the scene, LPD spokesperson Sgt. Wayne Griffin said. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the Lafayette Police Department for an interview with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing.
