Lafayette Police said the victim who was shot Friday afternoon has died as a result of his injuries.
The victim,36-year-old Emmanuel Barnes, of Lafayette, was shot multiple times at his home in the 100 block of Fitzgerald Street and ran to a nearby store in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Drive for assistance, according to police.
Barnes was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition but later died.
A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection to the homicide. The juvenile was booked into the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center on one count of second degree murder.
