The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says its facilities will reopen to members of the public beginning Monday, May 18, following closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Visitors conducting business at any of the Sheriff's facilities are asked to adhere to local, state and federal safety guidelines.
The Sheriff's Department says that guidelines may be different at each facility and vary depending on the type of service requested.
Safety protocols may include:
- Requiring visitors to have their temperature taken
- Limiting occupancy to 25% of capacity
- Maintaining proper intervals and distancing between individuals
- Requiring visitors to sanitize their hands and arms
- Requiring visitors to wear masks
With the reopening comes the resumption of many of the in-person services that were suspended due to the coronavirus. The department, however, is encouraging the public to check their website to make sure an online/web-based option is not available before visiting any of the facilities in person.

- Accident report availability
- Tax payments
- Apply online
- Public Record Requests
- Submit A Complaint
- Register for Agency Alerts
- Civil Sales
- Bid Solicitations
- Daily Arrest Reports
