Last night, the parish council approved an ordinance hiring an attorney to resolve a dispute with the administration of Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory and the parish council on the ability to control city tax dollars.

A final vote on this ordinance is set for September 1st.

Also at last night's meeting, the council approved a measure requesting more information about the findings of an LUS forensic audit.

The audit looked at LUS transactions and finances.

The audit highlighted the "Power Outage Management System", a system that enabled LUS Fiber to send an alarm to LUS whenever services were affected.
