A Lafayette man has been indicted on a rape charge.
A Lafayette grand jury handed up an indictment of Rogers J. Trahan, 59, on Wednesday.
The indictment accuses Trahan of second-degree rape of a child in February of this year. At the time of the alleged incident, the victim was 16 years old.
If convicted, Trahan faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, up to 40 years.
