Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has scheduled the next Household Hazardous Waste Day (HHWD) for Saturday, December 14.
The event will be from 8 a.m. until noon at Cajun Field. Residents in the City of Lafayette and unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish are encouraged to bring their unwanted household chemicals and electronics to be recycled or properly disposed.
Along with the acceptance of normal waste products including paint, poison, chemical cleaners, gasoline and mercury, crews will also be accepting electronic waste disposal option. Residents are encouraged to bring fluorescent tubes and alkaline batteries for disposal.

Unwanted latex paint can also be turned in on December 14. That paint will be re-blended and packaged for use by Lafayette Habitat for Humanity.
Attendees should enter the Cajun Field parking lot at Gate 4 from West Congress. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon.
