LAFAYETTE, La. — The Boards of Trustees of Lafayette General Health and Ochsner Health announced on Wednesday that they have approved a Shared Mission Agreement for the two health organizations to merge.
According to a release about the announcement, LGH and Ochsner will sign the definitive agreement on Wednesday.
LGH and Ochsner state that signing this definitive agreement is the next step in the process to form the most comprehensive healthcare provider in the Gulf South, focused on expanding access to high-quality care and improving the long-term health and wellness of communities across the region.
LGH and Ochsner cite the challenges that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic presents to healthcare and that forging smart partnerships to strengthen healthcare in Louisiana is now critical.
