A Disaster Recovery Center is now open in Lafayette to help hurricane survivors.

Located at the Graham Brown Memorial Park on Pont Des Mouton Road in Lafayette, the center will be open Monday through Friday; hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., closed Sundays.

No appointments are necessary.

Lenisha Smith, a spokesperson for FEMA, said the center is adhering to COVID-19 safety measures as well.

"We've set up a drive-thru disaster recovery center, where we can keep socially distant. Survivors can drive up, remain in their car. We ask that they wear a mask when they do come to the disaster recovery center."

All DRCs will be closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 26 and reopen at 8:00 a.m. Nov. 27.
