FEMA announced Thursday that the drive-thru Disaster Recovery Center in Lafayette Parish will cease operation by the end of the day on January 7.

The decision to close was made in agreement with the State of Louisiana.

The Disaster Recovery Center is located at Brown Park on East Pont Des Mouton Road in Lafayette

FEMA says that survivors do not need to visit a center to apply for federal assistance or update applications.

To apply, ask questions or submit information, survivors can call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 or TTY 800-462-7585. They may also visit www.DisasterAssistance.gov or download the FEMA Mobile App.
