Lafayette City-Parish Councilwoman Liz Hebert is requesting that leadership with Republic Services attend the next council meeting.
Hebert made the request because she has concerns about the service of the current provider. In an article released by The Current, Hebert expressed her displeasure in Republic Services. She says ongoing issues with the company include missed collection dates and trucks leaking hydraulic fluid and "trash juice" onto roadways.
The councilwoman says she gets complaints from residents on a daily basis.
In her Facebook post, Hebert invites the public to attend the August 6 council meeting at Lafayette City Hall to speak on the issue. The public will have five minutes to address their concerns.
