LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Garden Club celebrated Arbor Day on Friday at Heymann Park .
A tree was planted in memory of Garden Club members Aline Arceneaux and Ann Justice.
Officials from Lafayette Consolidated Government were also on hand for the ceremony.
"We have the ceremony to memorialize the people and promote the awareness and greatness of trees and beautification."
