A Lafayette man is dead after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bike.
Lafayette Police say 54-year-old Paul Attwood was riding his bike in the 1600 block of Surrey Street around 7:30 Thursday evening when the crash occurred.
Police say Attwood was traveling southbound on Surrey St. without lighting and was struck by a vehicle from behind.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle was not injured and alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
