UPDATE: Traffic is flowing slowly after a crash involving a disabled 18-wheeler temporarily closed I-10 West at Louisiana Avenue.

Lafayette Police were on the scene of the incident Monday morning near mile marker 104.

All lanes are now open after crews removed the disabled 18-wheeler from the roadway.

Traffic backup reached approximately 10 miles, according to State Police. They asks that motorists remain patient as traffic begins to flow again.

Congestion from the incident still remains at LA 347 in Henderson.

State Police say that traffic volume continues to be heavy westbound on I-10 to Lake Charles from the Acadiana area.

Troopers have responded to several crashes over the past several days involving vehicles following too close and drivers being inattentive, they say.

Motorists are reminded to monitor traffic several seconds ahead and leave a reactionary gap between you and the vehicle in front of your vehicle.
