LAFAYETTE, La. - Emma Broussard of Lafayette walked through her new house for the first time since being announced the grand prize winner of Home for the Holidays 2020 Wednesday night.

The home was built by Heritage Home Builders and valued at more than $475,000.

The home in Green Farms Subdivision at 135 N. Domingue Road in Lafayette, La features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a home office. The open floor plan is 2,464 square feet of living space and 3,565 square feet under the roof.

Broussard says she was a bit excited when she got the news that she was the lucky winner.

"It was quite amazing, quite surprising," she smiled. "It's a wonderful location for anybody. It's a beautiful home."

Proceeds from this project are dedicated to four, shelter-related charities in Lafayette: Faith House, Healing House, Habitat for Humanity, and St Michael's Center for Veterans.

To date, Home for the Holidays has donated more than $2.2 million dollars to these organizations.
