LAFAYETTE, La. - UPDATE: The missing Mire man has been found safe, according to his family.
Family members tell KATC that a woman picked Pitts up from the hospital and dropped him off at a nearby truck stop, where he remained until he was found.

Police and family are searching for a missing 67-year-old Mire man.
Family says Jacob Pitts has dementia and other health serious issues and was discharged from UHC in Lafayette at 6:00 pm Wednesday.
They didn't know he was discharged until this morning when they went to the hospital.
He is wearing bloody pants and a green PHI fishing tournament T-shirt (the same green shirt pictured).
He has no wallet, phone, transportation or identification.
