Inaugural Jingle Bell Market held at Hilliard Art Museum

The Hilliard Art Museum in Lafayette got into the holiday spirit Saturday as they hosted the first-ever Jingle Bell Market.

The event happened today, December 5, until 5 p.m.

Not only were those in attendance able to enjoy the art that lines the walls of the Hilliard, but the market also featured unique gifts, jewelry, handmade pottery, art books, and more. Organizers say it was a great opportunity to shop local, support the museum, and maybe find that perfect Christmas gift.

"We encourage people to come to the museum because we have so many beautiful exhibits and things to see," said store manager Cheryll Guilbeau. "One way we can bring [people] in is to have events like this, because up until now we have had limited events due to the virus."

Masks were required to attend the event and social distancing is being enforced. The event was free and open to the public.

If you couldn't make it or weren't comfortable attending in person, you can check out their Facebook and Instagram pages for all that they have to offer at the Jingle Bell Market.
