Groups joined together on Saturday in an effort to clean the City of Scott.
Parish Proud, Republic Services, the City of Scott, Kiwanis Club of Scott and local service organizations Boys Scouts of America, Acadiana Homeschool Key Club, National Junior Beta Club (Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School) and 4-H have joined forces to pick up litter to beautify the City.
The groups met Saturday morning at Scott Event Center located at 110 Lions Club Road.
Volunteers say the cleanup is an effort to show pride in their city.
"We want to be proud of the place that we live in," Angela Whittington explained. "We want to show them that community is where it's at. You have to give back to your community to fully enjoy it."
