The final ArtWalk of 2020 was held Saturday in Downtown Lafayette.
Saturday's special event was held from 6-8 p.m. and featured a variety of local artists and businesses.
Vendors lined up on Polk Street between Garfield and Vermilion as residents walked through the market.
The special edition of ArtWalk was a part of Merry & Bright Christmas, a holiday event currently being held in Downtown Lafayette. The initiative features several activities and events, including a Christmas Extravaganza and a window decorating contest.
Artists and restaurants offered residents the chance to buy various holiday gifts, stocking stuffers, and other hand-crafted items.
Organizers say the event is a great chance for Lafayette residents to get out and about safely during the pandemic, but also is a great way for area creatives to showcase and display their talents.
"This year has been really hard for a lot of these artists," explained Jamie Hebert, Director of Programming and Engagement for Downtown Lafayette Unlimited. "This is an awesome opportunity to get some last minute shopping in but also for [the artists] to showcase their talents."
