LAFAYETTE, La.- Handy Stop Market and Café celebrates the store's grand opening this weekend beginning on Friday, June 12 at 4:00 pm with the One Acadiana ribbon cutting and Saturday, June 13 at 5:00 pm with the Downtown Lafayette ArtWalk Kickoff ribbon cutting.
The store officially opened in May to serve as a safe place for Downtowners to shop for essentials especially during the pandemic͘. Now with the Governor's decision to move into Phase 2 the community is invited to join in the celebration of this new venue.
Friday's event will include live music, cake, and tastings of Handy Stop's special menu items. On Saturday there will be free samples of the chef's favorite appetizers, merchandise from local vendors, live music entertainment and an opportunity to win door prizes.
"I have bee anticipating this day for a very ling time, and am excited that it's finally here." says owner Bradley Cruice. "I am thankful for the continuous support I have received from the community and hope that everyone will join us in celebrating"
Located at 444 Jefferson Street, Handy Stop Markey & Café is open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am - 9:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on Sundays. The market provides customers with fresh produce, meats, dairy items, "Handy to Geaux" breakfast and lunch meals, and general merchandise. In the future customers will find a deli, salad bar, smoothies, pressed juices, coffee, tea and sweets. A drive through window and onsite parking will be made available for customers to purchase all the store's merchandise conveniently and quickly.
