LAFAYETTE, La. - Midsouth Bank's merger with Hancock Whitney became official on Monday.

Hancock Whitney marked the occasion with a sign-changing at 3730 Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette for one of the first new sign installations.

Festivities include the sign change, a Facebook Live conversation with local bank executives, a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, a $5,000 donation from Hancock Whitney to Second Harvest Food Bank, and community-client appreciation hospitality.

The merger marks the end of Midsouth Bank after 34 years of service in South Louisiana.

The acquisition of MidSouth Bank-announced April 30, 2019-increases Hancock Whitney's local network to 14 financial centers in Lafayette, Iberia, St. Landry, St. Martin.
