As scattered thunderstorms moved through the area, residents in Youngsville shared the hail that fell too.

KATC Meteorologist Dave Baker had this to say about the scatter storms today:

"A bit of an upper wave will move north of the region today. This should help to spark some showers and thunderstorms. The air mass is already relatively unstable, and moisture is there. This disturbance, combined with daytime heating, should get enough lift to see a pretty good coverage of rainfall by early this afternoon. Storms will be widely scattered, similar to what we see in the summer time."

In Youngsville, two viewers sent in photos of the hail. Jordan Sinitiere showed hail she picked up which looks about quarter-sized.

Kurt Babineaux also shared a photo of hail on the ground in the Youngsville area.

SLEMCO says they had an outage as storms moved through. The issue caused by a tree branches on a power line took out power to 1,100 customers. It was back up in 30 minutes time. No other major outages were reported.
