LAFAYETTE — Mayor-President Josh Guillory is urging people who had issues voting in Saturday's party preference primaries to contact the Lafayette Parish Registrar of Voters Office.
A number of voters from both the Republican and Democratic parties contacted KATC on Sunday, saying they were not allowed to vote in their party's presidential primary or their party's parish and state committee elections. Guillory asks voters who had problems to be prepared to provide documentation about your registration and what happened when you tried to vote. He also asks that you remain polite while speaking with officials in the registrar's office.
We have reached out to the Secretary of State's Office for comment, but we have not yet received a response.
