On Wednesday, a groundbreaking was held at the site for Parkside RV Park.
That park will soon be the new neighbor to the Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Park.
The CEO of Billeaud Companies Steven Hebert says that the site, which is expected to be completed at the end of the year, will have 53 locations for RVs and camper vehicles.
The space will be usable for visitors attending sporting events at the nearby park or those who are in town for other events. The site will have a full bath house and laundry facility on the grounds.
Hebert says the groundbreaking on Wednesday shows that the city continues to grow. He expects the RV park to bring in more participants and customers from out of town to the sports complex and help the local economy.
"The City of Broussard is absolutely open for business and we are going to have a wonderful facility for people to enjoy their RVs and the sports complex and enjoy time out on the weekends," Hebert said.
