Bicycles were given away Friday at an event hosted by Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys.
Friday concluded the group's 7th annual bicycle giveaway. Over 420 bikes are set to be given out to children during the holiday season across Louisiana. Along with bicylces, donations of helmets, knee pads, and shoulder pads were given out.
"I can remember coming down the stairs and seeing that bike under our family tree. I can't help but want to share that feeling with as many children as possible," Gordon says. "As we expand our business and become part of communities across the state, we want to give back to the people in each of those areas."
Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys has locations in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Gonzales, Lafayette, Shreveport, Hammond, Lake Charles, Alexandria, and Monroe most recently, Zachary.
In 2012, the giveaway began with 94 bicycles in the Greater Baton Rouge area and now has grown into a 420-bicycle giveaway in multiple cities across the state. This year, bikes will be given away in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, Hammond, Lake Charles and, Monroe, and Alexandria.
