Viewers have reached out to KATC with questions about the ongoing roadwork on W Congress Street in front of Lafayette High School.
The main concern is that with the start of school on Thursday, August 15, construction in the area could cause significant traffic concerns.
Lafayette Consolidated Government says that the roadwork in the area is expected to be completed by Monday, August 12.
The project was expected to start three-weeks ago, but the arrival of Hurricane Barry put the start of construction on hold. The work is currently in Phase 1 and will extend along Congress Street from Rue du Belier to Theater Street.
LCG says that the timeline for completion may be extended due to weather or other unexpected circumstances.
