LCG has provided an update on the status of debris pickup in the parish.

Delta pick up efforts began Saturday, October 10th and as of Friday, October 30, 2020, a total of 164,595.70 cubic yards (cy) of debris has been picked up city/parish wide.

The trucks are making a presence in most of the 18 zones that are mapped out.

The estimated amount of debris left on the streets is 75,000 to 100,000 cy, they are picking up an average of 10,000 cy/day.

LCG says they are approximately 75% complete with picking up debris from the streets with the parish being 75% complete also.

Tree Trimming

Residents hiring tree trimmers, please be aware of the following:

Local tree trimmers are aware of the requirement of them to haul felled trees and limbs away from the worksite.

It is a good idea to choose local in general as many irreputable businesses use storm events as an opportunity to take advantage of those needing repair services.

Please make sure that tree removal is a part of your quote. LCG’s Storm debris contract does not cover the removal of healthy trees unrelated to a storm event from a property.
