Friends Plans Book Sale

Friends of the Lafayette Parish Library is hosting a mini-book sale of fiction and cook books through tomorrow.

The sale will continue at the South Regional Library, 6101 Johnston St. tomorrow, Mon., Jan 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

The sale will feature gently used fiction and cook books.

The books are sold by the inch. Hard back books are $1 per inch, and paperbacks are 50c per inch.

Friends will also have a Special Books table featuring individually prices books sold separately. The books will be sold for $10 -- $25 and will include books of special interests--first edition books, books autographed by the author, and over-sized books including coffee table books--large, expensive, lavishly illustrated books intended for casual reading.

"Nothing like curling up with a good book, that's it. And as Bobbie said and I said a while back, there's no better way to bond with your child than to read them a story, and books take you anywhere you want to go. That's right. And you can learn anything you want to learn from a book," said Diana Nolan with Friends.

All the funds from the sale go to the public libraries. Only checks and cash will be accepted.
