LAFAYETTE, La. - Tests confirm that four Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Correctional Deputies have tested positive for COVID-19.
One inmate housed at the facility, who remains asymptomatic, also received a positive test result.
Both the deputies and the offender were immediately placed under quarantine and are following COVID-19 protocols recommended by the Louisiana Department of Health and the CDC, according to a press release from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
Lafayette Parish Correctional Center remains vigilant in protecting the health and safety of those incarcerated as well as those employed at the facility, the release stated.
