Fire investigators searching for cause in Youngsville fatal fire

After a fatal fire in Youngsville on Wednesday, the Lafayette Fire Department is still looking to determine the cause.

KATC spoke to Lafayette Fire Department Spokesperson Alton Trahan on the investigation. As of Friday, no cause has been determined. Trahan did relay that during the time of the fire, a spray paint device was being used.

In that fire which happened around 10:00 a.m. at a business in the 200 block of Brahman Drive, one person was killed.

The victim was identified by Youngsville Fire Department Chief Blair Rivette as 61-year-old Darrel Francis.

The building received heavy fire and smoke damage throughout.
