Fire destroys home on Roper drive in Scott

A trailer home was destroyed and two animals died following a Monday morning fire in Scott.

The Scott Fire Department says they were called out to a residential fire on Roper Drive, in the Shiloh Mobile Home Park on at 5:31 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters say they observed a manufactured home engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

An investigation of the incident determined that it was accidental in nature, according to Scott Fire Department.The exact cause is still under investigation.

One person in the home was able to safely escape without injury. Two cats inside the home died.

Another home near the trailer received minor damage. No firefighters were injured during the incident.

Scott Fire officials say that firefighters from Carenro and Duson responded to assist.
